  It's getting colder outside in this part of the world but the more difficult weather seems to be holding off for a few days, and the feral and farm cats are grateful for that, as am I. The winter months seem to get more difficult as I age, and I'm sure it's the same for the colony cats, many of whom are senior citizens. We just try to do our best.

  Also of note: I'm late with the wall calendars for 2027, but I hope to have them done soon, so PLEASE keep checking back! Part of the slowness is age. I'm having more trouble getting things done. Part of the delay is an Internet-wide PHP hack issue, which has messed up many PHP based tools and the fixes for that have been slow (which is why you may notice the desktop calendar wallpaper ALSO looks a little different). But it's mostly me...

  The calendar wallpaper above is in the 16x10 ratio, like you find on many Macbooks, iMacs and MS Surface tablets, plus others, but I have the wider HD 16x9 format (used by many "FHD" laptops and monitors) in the link below, along with  4x3 "TV" ratio and TWO mobile versions: One for phones and another for vertical tablets. If you use your tablet in the horizontal or landscape mode, I'd recommend using the 16x10 or the 16x9 desktop versions instead of the cropped mobile images, because the desktop versions include the calendars while the mobile versions do not - whichever works best for you. September 2026 Cat of the Month Calendar Wallpaper - Fluff Ball

  Are we ready? September first is the official beginning of meteorological Fall. Astronomical fall begins with the Autumnal Equinox, September 23. Either way, it is a time of transition; school time, leaf raking, fur coat maintenance. The world is constantly changing and we all need to adapt. By "we," I am including cats of all kinds, domestic and feral. The main difference among us is that I expend some energy worrying about what is to come. The cats will not worry so much; they know this is pointless. Their much more efficient method is simply to maintain awareness of the present moment.

  This moment... this moment is all we have, all that there really is. So be aware, be present, and be ready to adapt to every moment that comes. This is feral cat philosophy. Sometimes I think it might be a good idea for everyone.
