It's rougher for them because they live outdoors. My wish is for nicer, better days for all of us. It's what I hope for. And sometimes hope is all one has. We carry on...

February Cat of the Month Calendar Wallpaper 2026 - Hiding Cat

  February... unseasonably warm in some places, unseasonably cold in others. What do you think? Right now, I'm on the cool but still warm for this time of year side of the region.The cats and I prefer this, but I know we don't get a choice and it will change at any time. Sneaky Big Face tabby is hiding as though ready to spring out and take down a gazelle or something. Or it could be a game, but I won't test it. Instead, Big Face the stray cat is Cat of the Month for 2026 February.

December Cat of the Month Calendar Wallpaper - Tabby's watering hole

  Well, here we are at the end of the year, and it's been a year that can't be described, all in all. Here at th the beginning of December there haven't been any snow days or hard freezes yet, but I expect that will change. I'd like to say that I hope 2026 will be far better, but I can't do that for at least two reasons. One, because I don't exactly believe that, and; 2, because I'm still here and the cats are still here (most of them, anyway, we lost a couple, unfortunately) and that's probably about as much equanimity as we can expect. And I suppose that will be enough.

  It has to be... Oh, and you could still get a Feral Life 2026 WALL calendar.That would be nice.Thank you for being here with us. -- I hope everyone hass a happy, fur-laden holiday!

November Cat of the Month 2025 - Fall Meditation

  As daylight grows shorter, here in the northern hemisphere, everything seems to wind down: Bird migrate away, leaves fall, the weather turns colder and gray... For everything in life, there is a season. Impermanence is the hallmark of existence, and the more we try to hold on to what was, the faster it slips through our fingers. Bodhi Cat remembers impermanence; warming himself on sunny days, playing with friends - some of whom seem to have gone away and have not returned. Friends and other good things come into our lives, and then they disappear. It has always been this way, and that is the meditation of Fall.
