I thought this image makes a good symbol for the life of a feral cat: Living in the shadows, frightened, hungry ... yet still curious, for the soul of the cat burns with the desire to know... and be known.

    So true! Our feral tortoise Maggie has lived in our house for 13 years and let me pick her up about five years ago.
