Feral Cat Photo Of The Day - Handsome Boy Feral Cat

A Handsome Feral Cat

We've seen glimpses of this young tom before; this time a long lens and some luck means he now has a portrait shot.

Mostly, feral cats don't trust people at all, and for good reasons. Some feral cats are very difficult to photograph while others have become used to me and are almost friendly. Handsome Boy is somewhere in between. Even though I've been there feeding and caring for these semi-wild animals all his life, he still doesn't trust me. And that's just as well, I guess.

One of the first photos of this kitty was the acclaimed fine art black and white photography "Feral Cats"...

Feral Cats B&W

The starkness of this image says more about the real lives of feral cats than mere words. I believe Feral Cats will be part of an upcoming New York exhibition.

  1. We came to visit via The Cat Blogosphere and we are following you now and looked at your wonderful photos and learned about what you do for these kitties. It is hard, sad work sometimes but very gratifying, too. You are a good purrson!

  2. Thank you, Teri. I'm glad I can help these kitties. Sometimes their plight makes me very sad but I always manage to push past that sadness and carry on. I appreciate your support.

  3. What a wonderful blog. We will bookmark you on our blogs and on the Cat Blogosphere.

  5. What a gorgeous face he has. The B&W image would look beautiful matted and framed.

  6. Thank you, all! Your kind words are MUCH appreciated.

Daisy, thank you for the great suggestion. I've added the original BIG print to the "RESCUE PRINTS & CARDS" collection shown in the sidebar. If you wait, will scroll by.

    Thank you, again.
