Anonymous Orange Tom - Feral Cat Photo of the Day

Anonymous Orange
One of several mostly-nameless orange/buff/beige cats floating around the feral colonies. This one looks like he might not be feeling too well but it's hard to tell. Later, he looked fine and was found curled up sleeping with a friend.

For one reason or another, I've been thinking about what will happen to these cats when I'm gone. My sister may be able to take care of them for a while, but they aren't going to be as spoiled without me. All good things must come to an end and all that... I still feel bad for them, though.

  1. Hi Chriss,

Are you leaving the area? I just read your post and am puzzled.

    Worried,

  2. Oh, sorry... hopefully not any time soon. I've come down with a case (apparently) of Swine Flu, and as I posted a while back, cats can get swine flu from people and it is often fatal for them.

So it's not just that I'm pretty sick, but that I can't really take care of the kitties for now. My sister fills in. But of course only I know them by name and they know me, so ti isn't the same.

I have a heart condition, too, which makes this flu thing worse. I just want to survive so I can go back to being the feral cats' best friend.

  3. While I posted a story about cats getting Swine Flu from people months ago, there were several stories I didn't post. So to clarify what I'm saying here, this is another one - this time from Oregon:

  4. Oh Chriss, I am sorry to hear you've come down with that nasty flu. I hope you make a speedy recovery and feel better soon.

I'm glad you are not leaving as I just recently discovered your cat blog and your beautiful cat photography.

    Sending healing thoughts your way,

    Warmly,

    Midori
