Incredibly, it survived and was reported by area residents. The cat subsequently underwent very dangerous surgery and survived.
Animal Control owner Cindy Rarrat has named the young adult female calico cat "Amazing Grace."
Rarrat said a woman notified Animal Control of an injured cat roaming in the 500 block of Center St. Wednesday afternoon.
When they went to impound the cat, Animal Control officers discovered that a flat head nail had been driven into her skull.
Post-surgery, officials at Siouxland Animal Hospital said that Amazing Grace was up, eating and doing good.
There's a chance the cat could lose sight in her left eye. The nail didn't go through the eyeball, but Rarrat said doctors believe it may have damaged surrounding nerves.
We're all very glad the cat survived and we hope the sociopath that did this is caught and punished soon.
That just makes me heartsick. I am glad that Amazing Grace survived and it sounds like she will get a wonderful Forever home.
ReplyDeleteHow could anybody be so cruel? We're glad Amazing Grace is doing well.
