Cat and Overturned Wheelbarrow

An orange/ginger bobtailed feral cat decides to explore an overturned wheelbarrow for no particular reason. There is a holding cage in the background.

We just got through a big storm which featured 100 mile-per-hour wind and knocked down power poles:
Well, we have no electricity - look at the power poles, they're down. 100 mile-per-hour winds. #disaster #Hipstamatic #JohnS #Inas1935
This is the view of our road. Well, it was, anyway. Today they sawed up these power poles and put up new ones. And so we have electricity again! For now... We get big storms from time to time. On the east coast, people call these "superstorms" ... Here we call it, Tuesday. You probably never hear about it because this is the northwest coast. Nobody cares about us. That's a fact.

The cats are all fine, but unhappy about the situation. The "Cat Condo" I built for feeding was actually picked up and moved several feet. And it weighs a lot!  I got it back in place, though.

  1. way glad everee one is safe N unharmed N happee ewe haz electricity again two....wear we lives 100 mile winds be called tornado; uz cats call it scaree....stay safes

  2. I heard it was quite the storm on the coast. Would like to have been there. Growing up on the southern Oregon coast, a big storm meant everyone headed to the beach. We did "terrible" things like go out on the jetty and let waves break over us. I know, bad us. But that's the way we grew up. And you are right, we typically get storms with winds over 80 mph, and it's no big deal. I can't believe they got those power poles sawed off and new ones up so quickly. It really is amazing how quickly it gets done around here. I was on highway 38 a couple years back, taking cats to Snipped, and a tree fell across the road. However, it was not a long wait, because at least three people waiting, within the first five minutes, had chainsaws in their cars or trucks. So they made short work of clearing that huge oak off the road.

Comments are welcome! I always answer questions if I can.
